The Northern Territory Government welcomes over 2300 international students to study in Darwin and Alice Springs.

International students form an integral part of the community, contributing socially, economically and culturally to the Northern Territory.

As part of the government’s overarching goal to support international students, grant opportunities are now available through StudyNT in the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation. The grants have been developed as a pilot project through public consultations for the Economic Development Framework.

The grants will enhance the wellbeing of international students and encourage them to experience the Territory lifestyle. Community members including students, associations, businesses and not-for-profit organisations who can deliver initiatives and activities that showcase the Territory as the ideal destination to study, live and work are encouraged to apply.

The international student development grants are still available:

International student development grants - up to $500 each

All international students living in the Northern Territory and student and multicultural groups that are not incorporated are eligible to apply for this category that supports professional training and development opportunities. All international students applying must be currently studying with a Northern Territory education provider on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). This grant round is open until Monday 30 June 2018, or until funding has been fully expended.

These grants are now closed. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in February 2018.
