Use this checklist to help plan your stay for study in the Northern Territory:

  • ensure you have a valid passport covering the intended length of your study in Australia
  • arrange your student visa - contact the Australian High Commission or the Australian Embassy in your home country
  • have your health checks (including dental and optical) and ask your doctor to arrange any prescribed medication
  • start looking for accommodation
  • setup an Australian bank account
  • ensure you are correctly enrolled in your course
  • ensure you pack copies of important documents such as your letter of offer, academic records from previous study, identification, contact numbers and a written character reference to help in securing accommodation and employment
  • check customs and quarantine regulations - some items are not allowed into Australia and you will have to declare items such as foods and plants when entering the country.
